  • Why have we not heard of your company?

Easy! Even though we have been in business since September 2001, we concentrate so much on our regular customers that we mostly let word of mouth advertising work for us.  We do not put pressure on you to buy our products.  We do very little cold calling.  Our goal is to grow very slowyly so that our customers needs are always met!  Customers are always more important than prospects! Give us a chance and you will see why this is such an important reason to consider us as your vendor of choice! We have over 170 accounts (Sept 2006) and have kept a slow growth pace to be able to keep our customer base in line with our slogan!

That's why our slogan is, "We Specialize in Customer Astoishment! (tm) "

A O Specialty Chemicals, Inc.: Present

I started this endeavor September of 2001 and have thus far received great satisfaction.  My main objective is to run this company with the mindset of, you, the customer being more inportant than prospects.  When you are a satisfied customer, all else is taken care of. We understand that Service is the key to your business!  It is the key to ours. I have also developed many vendor relationships to distribute more products to your property.  I am a member of key associations and help build them with my dues and trade show booths.  I brought on Kevin Williams two years ago as our Vice-President and he has made all the difference.  He has brought a vast knowledge on the Kitchen, warewash, side of the business that is second to none!  You will enjoy getting to know Kevin.

Our main focus is the chemical side of the industy, and that is where we will save you the most money, deliver superior service and excellent quality. We distribute a unique product line of solid chemistry for small laundries. Housekeepers love it because it takes up little space and is not heavy to move. This line cost more, but the extra price is off set by energy and time savings. My liquid chemical line, which is the main stay of our product line, is second to none and priced below the national brands. It works well in all size laundries.  This product line has an established position in the market place. Our manufacture, Thatcher Company,  is a local Utah based natonal vendor. We, as a company,  have concentrated on the Thatcher line of liquids for several reasons. This chemical line was developed for Mission Linen out of Las Vagas!  Hmmmm... sounds like quality to us! Having chemicals manufactured here in Utah saves greatly on freight cost which is reflected in our low price! We also manufacture our own line of liquid Starch that is awesome!  It is a blend of PVA and Corn starch!  I did say Awesome! Pumps smooth as silk but is thicker than the other brands! Err... 30% less cost to you too!

I am always building relationships with other vendors throughout the country to insure maximum distribution of available products for you. If You need a product, we most likely can supply it!

Our company growth rate is based upon steady account development not to exceed our cash flow.  The dispensing equipment we supply you is very expensive!  For this reason we shop the market for the most effective line of equipment!  Hey! We are the little guys, we have to! We don't want it to break down on you.  Our controled growth allows us to give our increasing base of customers extensive service.   We attend several local trade shows a year and participate in national associations. Our customer base is extremely pleased with our company. Our trademarked motto of "Customer Astonishment (tm)" is not just a hollow slogan! It is a fact!

September 1998 to September 2001:  E M Systems, Inc.  Vice President: Chemical Division

Perhaps one of my most enjoyable business endeavors.  Worked well with the owners and helped develop a program for Nicholas and Company to supply all their laundry, housekeeping and kitchen needs.  Trained their sales team in the field and in specialty seminars at the main office of Nicholas.  I worked with and trained sales representatives with two other distribution companies.  Developed a superior blend of liquid starch and sold this on a national basis.  Was fine tuning a line of “Shirt Laundry” products before I began my own company. E M Systems, Inc. is a wonderful Utah company, run by Kirk Jenkins and I will always speak highly of them. It was an interesting three years and I learned a great deal about leadership and focus. I truly respect them. The most important aspect is the fact that they as well as AO Specialty Chemicals, Inc. are local chemical suppliers and will always provide superior service and price. I'll never understand why properties buy from the expensive national brands?

June 1997 to September 1998: Alliance Laundry Equipment

    Vice President: Chemicals Division

Equipment sales and development of laundry chemical program.  Hired and trained sales staff.    Decided equipment sales was not for me.  Moved back to the arena where I am most comfortable, the chemical side of the business.

August 1995 to May 1997: Cyclopss Textile, Inc.  Management, Chemistry, Sales and R & D.

This job pulled me to Salt Lake kicking and screaming! I really did not want to live here. In hind sight, I will always be thankful for this brief endeavor just for getting me here to this amazing state! What a wild ride it was! 22 months after I moved to Salt Lake, the division was shut down.  It was the humane thing to do! Talk to me about Ozone any time you wish.  They closed their doors shortly after I left.  My Laundry Chemical Specialist skills were utilized for in plant installations and demonstration of the ozone systems. Extensive travel, training, machine programming, formula development as well as, general corporate involvement.  Research & Development for ozone laundry lab.  Discovered several laundry ozone “secrets” that changed the way formulation and chemistry applied to the wash wheel.  Wrote and developed the chemical specialist portion of the Cyclopss national certification and training program for laundry chemical suppliers.  Created, wrote and compiled “how to “ manual for the Cyclopss Ozone program.  Created a unique device for the engineering department which was never patiented!  Shocking but true!  Bottom line, I will forever be thankful for them to get me to Utah. If you search this web site you will see the enjoyment we have in hiking the mountains and just being in Utah.

How do your chemicals stand up to the natonal brands?

This question can be debated for hours in and of itself!  There are so many different brands of laundry chemicals and in fact, most work quite well for their developed purpose.

However, our linen chemical line is formulated to exact quality each and every load.  Our product costs are below the national brands and our cost per load (which is the true cost to your property) are as low as well.  We take it to the next level at your request.  AO Specialty Chemcials, Inc. owns a Spectrophotometer (light reading device).  This is a $12,000.00 highly sophisticated scientific piece of equipment. We simply take a reading of your present textiles and six weeks later take another reading.  Your linen will be equal to or better than before.  Not only that, you will be saving money as well!

As far as warewash chemicals go, they are made right here in Utah as well and are a first rate blend of what you need for clean and spot free glass ware!

This is why we offer a  "Try or Buy" demo!  You don't like it, you don't have to pay the invoice for the first set up of chemicals!  We will even re-install your old vendors equipment if you like!  No harm ... no foul!

Tell me more about your "Try and buy" program.

"Try or Buy" Program is a great way to prove that your judgemnt is right on!

It is quite simple really.  We will come into your laundry or Kitchen and set up our program and products for your review.  Anytime during the first set up of chemicals you can tell us you do not like what you are seeing and we will re-install your old programs and chemicals like we were never there.  You take our invoice and tear it up!  No problem!

Of course we would not offer this unless we were sure you will benefit from our program.  So far every manager has kept us installed because they saw our quality was equal or better than what they had.

We invite you to see first hand of how our motto of "Customer Astonishment" is not just lip service!  You will especially enjoy the savings as a result of using our product line!
